Decent value for first-time service

I needed a mobility scooter service and saw Tom's Hospital offered a first-time customer discount on labor. It made a real difference in the final cost. The service itself was good, and the scooter feels much safer now. I felt like I got a fair deal.

They fixed our old wheelchair

Our old wheelchair needed some serious maintenance. I called Tom's Hospital, and they sent someone out. The guy knew his stuff and got it all tuned up. It was pretty easy to set up the appointment, too. Good experience overall.

Consistently reliable repairs

This is my third time using Tom's Hospital, this time for oxygen concentrator service. Like before, they were prompt and efficient. The quality of their work has been consistently high across all my previous repairs for hospital beds and patient lifts. It's why I keep coming back.

Fantastic repair service!

I used Tom's Hospital for a hospital bed repair, and they were just incredible! The technician was so knowledgeable and fixed it quickly. My patient is much more comfortable now. I'm definitely using them again for any future needs. I'll be telling all my colleagues about them!

Good service, some room for improvement

I had them come out for a power wheelchair repair. The technician was professional and got the chair working again, which was the main thing. The booking process online was a bit clunky, I think they could streamline that. Overall, a solid experience and good value, but the website could be smoother.

Thorough and efficient repair process

I scheduled a diagnostic equipment repair for our clinic. The initial contact for scheduling was straightforward, and they sent a detailed quote quickly. The technician arrived on time, which is always a plus, and he was very systematic in his approach. He explained the issue with the circuit board clearly and outlined the steps he took. They had the necessary medical device parts on hand, so the repair was completed in a single visit. The equipment has been running perfectly since. I appreciate the clear communication throughout the entire process, from initial inquiry to final repair.

does Tom's Hospital work with insurance at all for repairs? or is it all out of pocket?

M Matt Walker 6 days ago
I tried to get them to bill my insurance directly for a mobility scooter repair and they don't. You have to pay them and then submit the paperwork to your insurance yourself. It's a bit of a hassle.

Nah, they're not really set up for insurance billing directly. Just pay and file your own claim.

anyone know if they do on-site repairs for hospital beds in, like, rural areas? i'm a couple hours from any major city.

K Katie Taylor 1 week ago
I'm pretty sure they do. My facility is kinda out there and they came to us for a few bed repairs last year. Best to call and check their specific travel range though.

Yeah, they usually do. Might be a travel fee but they'll come out. My friend in upstate NY had them fix something on-site.

thinking about getting a refurbished hospital bed for home use. are they actually good quality or kinda beat up?

S Sandra Phillips 1 week ago
My buddy got one from them a few months ago, said it was basically like new. No weird noises or anything, super clean. Seems like they really go through them.

how do these guys compare to Agiliti? Agiliti was kinda slow last time but I'm used to them.

B Ben Williams 1 month ago
I've used both. Tom's felt more personal, if that makes sense? Agiliti was fine, but Tom's seemed to get things done a bit faster for my particular repair.

Agiliti is bigger, so sometimes you just get lost in the shuffle. Tom's is usually pretty responsive. depends on what you need though.

do they ever have any deals? like coupon codes or something? looking to get a bunch of stuff serviced.

J Julia W. 1 month ago
Not really 'coupon codes' in the usual sense. I asked about a discount for a bigger job and they just applied it to the quote. Maybe mention you're a first-time customer.

Yeah, I think they give 10-15% off labor sometimes for new customers. But you gotta ask, they don't just hand it out, at least not that I saw.

hey has anyone actually used their repair service for a power wheelchair? how long did it take to get it back?

E Elizabeth 1 month ago
Yeah, I did for my grandma's chair last month. Took about a week for them to fix the motor. They told me upfront it could be longer if they needed special parts though.

Mine was just a battery swap, so it was pretty quick. Two days, I think? But I dropped it off, didn't use their pickup.
